Belly Binding

Belly binding is the art of wrapping the womb with a muslin cloth to aid in mental, physical, and spiritual healing post-birth. While the tradition of covering the belly can be found centuries before us in all nations, the art of Benkung binding is traditionally a Malaysian practice.

If you choose to have a binding session, you are taught how to care for the cloth, apply the abdominal salve, and receive a binding. If a partner or friend is present, they will be shown to do this for you in the early stages of your postpartum journey. Additionally, you also have the time to discuss your birth and healing if you feel called to do so. We will discuss your healing time, length of use and your diastasis recti. Each bind is hand dyed to your liking, or you may choose one from the stock. All ingredients for the abdominal salve are locally sourced and organic.

Additionally, Krystah offers closing ceremonies that help to aid in trauma recovery for births that may not have gone as gentle as you would have liked. These ceremonies also seek to honor the journey you have gone on regardless of how your birth went.
